Hello, and welcome to my website. I am a Certified Radon Mitigation Contractor serving the Treasure Valley. I was drawn to radon testing and mitigation because of the enormous risks radon poses to our health. I enjoy building and fixing things but I thought it would be much more rewarding to be a part of saving lives through radon mitigation. I have never before seen so much cooperation between public and private sectors of business in helping to bring about public awareness as I have with radon. Still, radon remains a very serious national health concern. I am therefore completely at your disposal for honest answers to your questions about radon testing and radon mitigation.
Radon is a radioactive gas released from the normal decay of uranium in rocks and soil. It is an invisible, orderless and tasteless gas that seeps up through the ground and diffuses into the air. In a few areas, depending upon local geology, radon dissolves into the ground water and can be released into the air when the water is used.
Radon Gets in Through:
Radon gas exists at very low levels outdoors, however, in homes radon can accumulate to levels that substantially increase the risk of lung cancer and other disease. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that one in fifteen homes in the United States has high levels of radon and should be fixed. According to Air Chek's database at radon.com, one in four homes in Ada County, Idaho has high levels of radon.

The answer is no. Just because two radon mitigation contractors may have some of the same training, passed the same tests, and took the same oath to follow EPA safety protocols does not mean they are installing the same system. There will always be some variance in design and possibly a significant difference in the location choice and type of radon reduction system suggested for your home. Those differences can greatly influence the final level of radon left in your home.
Major points to look at when deciding which company to use to mitigate the radon from your home:
If you're going to hire someone to help with your home’s high radon level, make sure you hire the right company with the most experience and best guarantees and get as much radon reduction as possible.
"We recently had our new cabin in Smiths Ferry tested for radon. Valley County, and many areas in Idaho, test above average for radon. Our newly built residence tested more than double recommended maximum safe levels -- putting the health of our family at risk! Here in Ada County about 1 out of 4 homes are above safe levels necessitating a need for awareness and education on this silent health risk. Test your homes. We called Northwest Radon Services. They are responsive, efficient and professional. We originally tested at a 9, and after the remediation of Northwest Radon Services, we are now at a safe 0.6! Our thanks to Tim and his crew."

"We spoke with several other radon mitigation companies from all over Idaho. However, we prefered Tim's plan/guarantee to all the others. He and his team, reduced our radon levels down 90%, via his crawlspace suggestions our basement odor is gone and we immediately saw the benefits to their recommedations. Tim and his team were very professional, competively priced and were open to our ideas and concerns. Northwest Radon Services went above and beyond our expectations and we could not be happier with all of their services!!!"
